At the end of this lab, a successful learner should be able toβ¦
- Explain how the melanization response helps insects fight different
types of parasites
- Perform dissections of Odontotaenius beetles and recognize
common macroparasites of them
- Analyze empirical observations of parasite burden and immune
response to make conclusions about which types of parasites illicit
stronger host immune responses
